The two stylists at Deklynd Channing Hair Design complement each other, yet have their own unique styles.
Hair Salon Owner / Hair Designer
I was professionally trained at Vidal Sassoon in Chicago. After graduating, I developed my craft further at Pascal pour Elle. While in Chicago, my work with everyday clients and celebrities was highlighted on multiple daytime shows including Rachel Rae, Oprah Winfrey, and Jenny Jones.
In 1997, I brought my expertise to Austin further enhancing my skill set as a colorist. I went to work for Wella International as a Color Educator and spent five years teaching and sharing my knowledge with others in my field. In 2008, I was awarded Best Hair Colorist in Austin by Austin Monthly magazine. In the same year I was also awarded status as an A-list hairdresser in Austin by Tribeza magazine. My work is also featured frequently in Austin Woman, Texas Monthly, Tribeza, and Austin American-Statesman Glossy.
I consistently study trends, colors, designs, products and techniques in an effort to keep my clients feeling excited as well as comfortable with their experience.
Hair Designer / MakeUp Artist
I believe that everyone deserves to feel confident, professional, sexy or fun. Whatever it is that gives my clients the self-assurance they need to meet the demands of their world. To me, hair and beauty are not just my job but a way of life.
I began my professional career as an assistant to Deklynd Channing in 2001. Under his tutelage, I was able to learn critical lessons to enhance my craft. My career then took me to the broader world where I worked as a personal makeup artist and hair stylist and was a finalist in a global competition held by Wella International. I also developed a side career as stylist to local television personalities, specialized in weddings, and styled hair and provided makeup artistry for print work.
During every aspect of my career, my first love has been servicing my clients. Each client is unique and special. Every client has a desire to look their best, and they trust me to help them achieve their goal. In order to hit the mark, I listen to what the client has to say and always take into consideration how they see themselves. Achieving the best look for a client involves a combined vision never losing sight of how my clients feel. My goal is that every one of my customers like what they see in the mirror when the style is finished. Their smile is my reward.
